Ummm, The USA, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Isis are all against Bashar Assad and the current Syrian government.
Its not that confusing
Obama begged for a war in Syria a while ago and couldn't get it done politically. Magically an armed group gets US weapons and training from Saudi Arabia and USA special forces in the Jordanian desert before going to Syria to cause drama. They then declared they were 'isis' and proceeded to fighting Assad and allegedly killed a couple americans.
The USA is so outraged at this group they armed and trained that they will ask for lots of bombings and dronings across Syria, a lot like their previous war request, to prevent Assad from keeping Syria despite his opposition to ISIS.
In the meantime Iran offered help to fight isis and the USA lied about the exchange, you see they don't want help because they want a cassus belli to bomb more and to weaken the assad government. The NSA has already run some big time operation there to snoop. The USA leadership even gave chemical weapons to a rebel group and then lied about Assad's forces using them. Its all a ruse to get Americans to support killing Assad's regime. What a sad time to live through another set of lies like Gulf of Tonkin incident.

Natural gas and oil.
LINK
quote:
In 2009, Qatar proposed to run a natural gas pipeline through Syria and Turkey to Europe. Instead, Assad forged a pact with Iraq and Iran to run a pipeline eastward, allowing those Shia-dominated countries access to the European natural gas market while denying access to Sunni Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
quote:
The latter states, it appears, are now attempting to remove Assad so they can control Syria and run their own pipeline through Turkey.
quote:
Viewed through a geopolitical and economic lens, the conflict in Syria is not a civil war, but the result of larger international players positioning themselves on the geopolitical chessboard in preparation for the opening of the pipeline in 2016. Assad’s pipeline decision, which could seal the natural gas advantage for the three Shia states, also demonstrates Russia’s links to Syrian petroleum and the region through Assad. Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as well as al Qaeda and other groups, are maneuvering to depose Assad and capitalize on their hoped-for Sunni conquest in Damascus. By doing this, they hope to gain a share of control over the “new” Syrian government, and a share in the pipeline wealth.

It is confusing when you get your news fed to you by only those who appeal emotionally to your own innate and formed biases. I.E - You grew up a conservative and by God only Fox News and WSJ are the news sources you will watch.
A question for everyone??? If you were the US officials dealing with Syria, would you rather negotiate a peace with a rag-tag group of Wahabbist sunnis who issue fatwas against Mathematics, or negotiate with the Al Assad govt???? It is clear they desire ISIS to be that 'cassus belli', which will also maintain plausible deniability when/if fighting with SAA/Hezbollah and allies in the effort to topple Assad.

In the Middle East the enemy of your enemy is not your friend.
