But I thought voter fraud was a myth fabricated by racist conservatives who want to deny minorities their right to vote ?

via the New Haven Register:

State Representative Christina “Tita” Aylala Dem-Bridgeport, was arrested Friday on 19 voting fraud charges.

Aylala, 31, is accused of voting in local and state elections in districts she did not live (in), the Chief State Attorney's Office said in a press release.

The arrest warrant affidavit also alleges Aylala provided fabricated evidence to state Election Enforcement Commission investigators that showed she lived at an address in a district where she voted while actually living outside the district, according to the release.

Bet we wont see this on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS or MSNBC.

Didn't happen.

But Tuba said Tita would be disenfranchised, and we wouldn't want that

Not sure how voter ID is supposed to prevent this. All she would have to do is say she lost her ID and sign affidavits saying she lives in those districts - certainly something she would be willing to do given she has no problem with voter fraud.

On the other hand - the present law seems more than capable of detecting her fraud. All they have to do is compare voting logs and look for the same people voting in two different places! Duh!

But I thought voter fraud was a myth, like Bigfoot? This can't be true, it's almost impossible to commit voter fraud in the US.

No, we don't have the technology to stop people from voting more than once on election day.

That is just a stupid comment.

And many more, like her vote in other peoples names, and still many more nursing home people who aren't cognitive of anything, vote as they are told.

If you can't make the voting booth on election day you don't need to vote. And yes, we should have a system that puts a hold on any vote that had voted twice, thereby the I.D. would be a deterrent because if a vald I.D. is used twice, then you know you have voter fraud, on the spot.

Gun crimes aren't a myth either yet the same folks who want to require photo ID to vote seem to have no problem with folks buying guns with no id.

Of course its not impossible. No one ever claimed it was or even almost impossible.

I'll tell you what is IMPOSSIBLE though. Especially for people willing to commit voter fraud. A FAKE ID. That's never happened before. Ever. And if it did - your average part time poll worker would spot it instantly.

So, you're saying that regardless of any measures we put in place to prevent voter fraud, you libs will find a way around it? Cause that's what I'm getting from you.

Please link the post(s) of anyone suggesting that guns should be purchased without I.D.

Gee - Voter ID laws must not have been in effect at the time - right? Or this could not have happened!!!

These recall elections were Wisconsin's first under provisions of a newly enacted law making two significant changes to the eligibility requirements for voting—photo ID and a longer residency requirement (from 10 to 28 days)—as well as the minor change of requiring electors to sign in on the poll book.[24]

So people in nursing homes don't have a right to vote - because you've made the amateur determination that they only vote as told?

Guess that answers my question. My grandfather served from WW II through Vietnam and was in his right mind up until his death, but he shouldn't have been able to vote the last decade of his life. Got it.

biometrics are a better way of doing this.

What?

The NRA favors loopholes which allows folks to buy guns without id.
