I have long said that Cruz is best in all 3 phases of speaking:
Stump Speech
Extemporaneous Q and A
Debate

This guy agrees with me:

american conservative

He puts Christie at No. 2. I would argue that Rand Paul is equal to or slightly better than Christie.

Ben Carson is my No. 4. Jeb Bush no. 5

All of them are vastly superior to Hillary Clinton.

I love Carson's common sense approach to issues, but the man just has very little charisma.

Cruz would be the best, "safe" choice. Solidly conservative and would bring the historic first Hispanic Presidential campaign. Best speaker and appears most reasonable.

Christie would be the moderate choice.

Paul would be a revolutionary, conservative with a marked libertarian leaning - despite his assertions, he would be, effectively, the first "libertarian" President since the founders.

Ben Carson would be the Republican response to the racebaiting of the Obama Presidency.

Jeb Bush would be a dangerous precedent - a third member from the same family? Not interested. If nominated, obviously, I will hold my nose and vote for him over Clinton/Warren/Booker/Whomever

I was just talking about the brilliance of Ted Cruz yesterday. A couple of the resident libtards, TT9 and FT, almost had simultaneous strokes.

Man, I hate the word "almost".......

Pray tell how you determine Cruz to be the most reasonable? There's no denying his intelligence and speaking ability, but reasonable? He is one of the most unreasonable members of Congress, IMO.

Hillary delivers a prepared oration like she's talking to a class of first graders. Extremely limited vocabulary. Painfully slow. Condescending.

In spontaneous Q and A she never enters an arena without a friendly interviewer. She gets questions like "Mrs. Clinton, do you ever get discouraged that your tireless work for all Americans and indeed the world are sometimes not appreciated by some people?"

I guess we have different definitions. He aligns most closely with the way I would behave in the Senate.

Well, if you mean by 'unreasonable' he is not interested in currying favor of Democrats, then yes. But that's what I'm looking for. Not John McCain.

Cruz would be the loony toon choice. The safe choice is christy right now.

And to the OP, debating is largely irrelevant to who wins.

Fair enough.

I have very little in common with Cruz ideologically, but I find him one of the most intriguing politicians in DC.

I'm not a terribly huge Cruz fan, but the fact that other members called him a terrorist makes me lawlz at your silly statement.

How has running Democrat-light candidates been working out for the GOP?

Are they shooting for 3 losers in a row?

Ted Cruz isn't unreasonable. He's the closest thing to Ronald Reagan that the country has right now. The problem is, our corrupt, biased media has moved much further to the Left over the past 30 years.

The media will probably work overtime to destroy him. It's a shame, because imo he would make a great President.

If only the idiotic low-info voters in this country would wake up and figure out that they are being spoon-fed a bunch of left-wing bullshite, but I doubt that will ever happen. Those people are much more interested in watching DWTS and American Idol to figure out that jerks like George Stephanopoulos aren't really the professional, objective news journalists they are propped up to be.

Not true. There have been huge polling movements following a bad performance in a debate.

One example. Michael Dukakis was an opponent of the death penalty. Question: What if your wife was raped and murdered? Would you want the criminal to be executed?"

He said "No." The camera switched to his wife in the front row of the gallery. She dropped her head down in shame.

His poll numbers plummeted.

Ted Cruz is never going to be elected president.

Likeability is a crucial characteristic to be elected. People Like Christie and Paul. People despised Ted Cruz on both sides of the political spectrum. He comes off as such a smug arse hole.

Ted Cruz gets stomped by Clinton even in many red states. I hope he win the GOP primary.

I could live with Cruz. The reason I like Carson is he's about as anti-establishment as one could get. I'm so sick of the culture that has become Federal Government. Their sense of entitlement is worse than any of those receiving gov't handouts.

Speaking of unreasonable, I dare anybody to honestly and sincerely claim that Cruz was wrong to attempt to defund Obamacare. That sorry arse legislation is a dog with fleas.

And just wait until the employer mandate kicks in.....
