I'll be starting a house soon just north of Pineville and I'm looking for subcontractors names and contact info. Pretty set on plumber and A/c guy but everything else is up in the air for me and would like to contact people to get bids. Thanks for any help

It sounds like you're going to do some of this work yourself and don't have a builder.

I will be doing some work myself and no I haven't settled on a builder or most other subs either. I plan on getting multiple bids for most things so I just need names and their contact info

Local security contractors are sketchy. Be careful.

honestly, prepare to be pissed...as a one and done job, you will be last on the priority list of any sub that works regularly with builders in the area...

Meh

I subbed out the construction of my house in 2010. I had very few problems with my subcontractors. Framers started the first week of September and I moved in 10 days before Christmas.

I didnt always take the cheapest bid though. Good contractors with good references were the key.

The few problems I did have were with a few guys that I found on my own instead of sticking to my reference list.

Most of the guys I used worked out of the Ascension and Livingston area.

Not sure if that would help you or not.

Make sure they carry insurance. You don't need a lien on your house when finished.

you're probably right, but we're talking Pineville here... can't imagine there's a lot of "builder" activity.
