seems like a witch hunt to me. Id look more into his domestic situation for the real cause in his murder suicide.

I must be the only person on the planet who didn't know Chris Henry died.

Essentially. They are knowingly playing a dangerous game. They are well aware of the potential long term health issues. The nfl does what it can to make the game safe. As far as I'm concerned there is no issue here.

Can they not just make them sign an agreement not to file a lawsuit when they are signed? If you won't do it, you can't play and make millions. Willing to bet that 99% of current players would agree.

We all know that every single retired player who tries to pull a lawsuit over this shite is just doing it for a money grab.

Now they do. For decades they didn't. Hence the lawsuits from older players.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. One game against the Chargers, Belcher got a sack. He did the guns celebration afterward, but then he pointed the guns at himself.

Meh. Players know what they are doing. They know they are putting their selves at risk when playing. It's just a money grab now a days.

Gross over-simplification, painting with a broad stroke and just plain wrong really. For decades the NFL kept information from players on the long-term effects of concussions and other injuries. With any large-scale litigation like this, of course there will be hangers-on, but to call it one big money grab is way off-base.

They were saying this guy was suffering from blackouts and confusion after his last head shot. It's shocking friends and family were allowing him to keep guns laying around the house.

It almost seems like ESPN is trying to take down it's cash cow via its 'social' justice reporting. Do they realize that they are doing this? Or do they feel the NFL is too powerful and their boogeyman won't matter?

The NFL is either going to have to balls up and tell the PC pussies of this world to stfu and get the players to sign waiver, like they already should be doing, or they are going to regulate themselves to death. Add to that the fact that parents arent letting there sons play anymore and they are heading for a problem down the road.

I don't believe there was significant research on this during the 70's-90's so what should they have done beyond what they did?

CTE is going to become the new explanation for all things very stupid done by football players.

When the former player talking heads speak on this, you would think someone was holding a gun to their head forcing them to play with no compensation.

I love how the NFL automatically gets the blame for something years in the making most likely started at pee wee football.

I know. Just like 3 years ago, everyone is all like "Lance Armstrong, has never failed a drugs test, therefore he must be clean".
