Was trying to figure this out when I saw the Mack the Knife thread on the Fark Board. I don't remember that McDonald's commercial, but I do vividly remember the Beggin' Strips commercial (born in '89)...
Beggin' Strips (1998)
I think I remember a Cheerios commercial hear or there, but couldn't find the one I was looking for...

I'd say that it might be the commercial with Gilbert Gottfried as the Smoke Detector or the old Nasanex commercials with the guy's head as the gigantic nose and glasses, only because that really scared the frick out of me as a kid

It was a Calgon commercial where they said "ancient Chinese secret, huh?".

either an Everready battery with some tough guy putting one on his shoulder daring you to knock it off??? Why????
or
An old Miller Lite Tastes Great/Less Filling one.
Both of which are from me watching the NFL when I was young.

Guy I went to law school with was in a gas station commercial with Toby Keith during Toby's first "less successful" foray into country music.
Pretty funny.

Doral cigarettes. A woman singing "Taste me, taste me"
Speedy for Alka Seltzer. Plop plop, fizz fizz. Oh what a relief it is.

I've never really watched commercials, even before DVR.

Probably the Indian crying anti-litter ad, or a Coke commercial where they were singing "I'd like to buy the world a Coke". (Both from the '70s)
