Why is it only used behind one endzone?

Allstate was too cheap to sponsor both ends.

Asked a buddy at the LSU game last night.

Do the make contributions for all FG/XP, or just ones that hit the net?

The fans in the south endzone won't throw the ball out of the stadium.

Maybe after they get done paying this guy they only have enough money left for one net per stadium?

Serious answer...at each stadium they figure out where the end zone camera is and put the AllState net up on the opposite end, so that when someone is watching on TV they can clearly see "AllState" on FG attempts toward that goal. If you put the net on the goal in the other end zone, AllState appears backwards to the viewer.

Wut?

Do they not have a camera for each end zone?

You don't watch football on TV??

Pretty much any game you see on TV has one end zone camera that is used for FG/PAT kicks. Sometimes the kick comes toward the camera...sometimes it is away from the camera...depending on which goalpost the team is kicking toward.

In Tiger Stadium, currently, they used the South end zone camera on TV games. When a FG is being attempted toward the student section, the ball is being kicked away from the camera...FG attempts in the South end zone come toward the camera.

Used to be the other way around years ago.

I watch plenty on tv, but I attend LSU home games

I was talking about football in general I guess

There is really no reason they can't have a camera in the NEZ anyway. Pretty sure I've seen one right underneath the scoreboard for certain telecasts

In the past, if you watch old games on TV, the end zone cam was in the NEZ.

I might be wrong on this, but I think that with the way the video board is set up in the NEZ, there is no longer the ability to set up a camera deck in the NEZ, so the moved it to the SEZ.

There's a place for cameras now, but i guess they may not use it for the FG shots for whatever unknown reason

I just think it is kind of sad how much pub they get. They have their damn net in just about stadium in the country and yet "In the past 10 years, Allstate has contributed $3.4 million" like it is a ton of money.

My buddy and I said the same thing whenever they showed that number on a game week 1.

I mean, obviously, $3.4 million is a big amount, but they could cut a check for the same size right now and not blink an eye.

They should start donating more for longer field goals or something.

Don't know...I just do know that on any game you watch, the AllState net is at the goalpost furthest from the end zone cam that TV is using that night.
