I wont be in the woods Wednesday because of work but hope to be Thursday and then over weekend for sure!
Looking forward to some IST's brothers! Who is going Wednesday?
Update: Reminder - Please check all ladders and stands before climbing - tighten straps on stands and ladders, check for bees/wasp/snakes in stand - and don't forget a safety harness. Hate reading about early season accidents. Will be praying for safe hunts for all. Good Luck!

I probably won't make a hunt till Friday but im ready!

Ours started yesterday. I won't be able to hunt until Wed. I picked up two new locations and spent yesterday getting one of them ready for later. If I'm right this one should produce a big one but I'm waiting on cam results to verify. The other is 500 acres that already has stands set and plots planted. I just need to clear some yotes before I get the full invite. Only two other hunters and it is all hill and hardwoods.

I'll be 17 feet up come Wednesday morning. Loading the truck and trailer up now.

I got a good start on restocking my freezer yesterday. Hopefully the cold front coming this weekend will get the bucks up and moving.

Trophy Taker Ulmer Edge. That is the entrance hole in the shoulder. She was quartering to slightly and the head blew through the scapula and took out the heart. It was an easy 30 yard tracking job.

I normally wouldn't kill a doe 20 minutes into an opening morning hunt, but I wanted to break the ice with my new bow

Thanks, I'm a fixed blade guy but the Ulmer Edge impressed me the way it penetrated/held together through the shoulder

Gonna be in the 50s Friday and Saturday night around Natchez. Probably one of the coolest opening weekends I can remember.

Not going Wednesday, but probably Saturday. Question. Put new sights on my boys bow and sighted in this weekend. He stands at the appropriate distance and we move the pins until on target. Should we be doing this from an elevated platform since that's how he is going to be hunting or does it not matter? TIA

elevated platform
Not completely necessary. If you have a way to shoot from a platform it can help for getting the feel of it, but it's just the horizontal distance that affects the arrow trajectory.
