Those who do not understand booing may have grown up in soft environments. Those of us who got nothing if we sucked have no problems with booing, especially because we know that it is directed at the coaches. Only a dummy sees it directed at the kid making the mistakes.

I'm sure it doesn't affect a player's mental or emotional state to hear his home crowd booing when he's out there having the worst game of his life in front of 100,000 people and on TV.

Really sad seeing a supposed "adult" defending the booing. Even worse starting a new thread just to defend the booing.

People that boo college athletes are pathetic. It has nothing to do with being soft and everything to do with a bunch of HS scout team all stars who never had a significant athletic accomplishment criticizing athleticism they can't duplicate in a system they can't understand.

If you support booing the young men you're pulling for, then you're absolute trash. LSU would be better off without you as a fan.

But you're saying it's OK to boo the coaches? How can you tell the difference? Did you take a quick survey of fans at the time to make sure?

In reality, in what you would call the "pre-participation era trophy, booing either hometown coach or team was very, very rare. Even in the darkest parts of the Charley Mac era.

I think the biggest pussies in this whole deal are the people trying to justify it.

"Well yeah we booed but it was at the coaches, not at Jennings"

I'm sure Jennings was fine with that last night. Grow a set and admit you were booing Jennings.
