They ditched this song after the pilot. Music by the great John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, etc). Also, noticed they got rid of the "two secretaries" and inserted Ginger and Mary Ann.
Then the version we all know became one of the greatest tv theme songs of all time.

That was awful. I love how they didn't even intro the actresses who played the secretaries. I guess they were just supposed to be eye candy.

That's horrible, glad he got better.
may not have been the same John Williams, maybe it was the LSU basketball player's dad or something

That is crazy! I never knew this was the original song and they had 2 secretaries instead of Ginger and Mary Ann!

Not only can you hear the whore, you can picture the bad advice he got, costly session, and subsequent pass from the studio.

Read that the flag in the harbor at 0:48 was at half mast because JFK had been shot earlier that day.

Everyone saying how bad it is needs to watch it again. It's extremely catchy.

It's more plausible (just barely) that they'd be marooned in the South Pacific. Too many people around in the Carribbean for them to go undiscovered that long.

you must have missed "Danger Island", right?

Wasn't the regular theme show changed after a while from
"...a movie star
And the rest
Here on Gilligan's Isle"
To
"...a movie star
The professor and Mary Ann
Here on Gilligan's Isle"
(Y'all are singing it now, aren't you? )
I seem to remember watching reruns and thinking, that's stupid, they probably all would've died quickly without the professor's inventions.
