Will Scott Angelle elect David Vitter Governor?

I'm hearing a lot of noise that Scott Angelle may run for governor. If he does it would seem he would effectively split the moderate Republican vote with Jay Dardenne and cause Vitter to face the democrat John Bel Edwards in a runoff. Then Vitter would win the runoff .
Splitting the vote is exactly what happened when Edwin Edwards faced David Duke in the runoff. All the moderate candidates ate each other up in the middle and the two extremes made the runoff.
So why would Angelle want Vitter elected governor over Dardenne?

Vitter is awful, but he's not quite as embarrassing as David Duke.

Well I agree Vitter is a step up from Duke, but Louisiana can do better. I would vote for Angelle or Dardenne over Vitter but if they both run I think they kill each other.

If Mary wins reelection, I would think Mitch would then run for Governor.

Don't write off the trial lawyer John Bel Edwards so quick.
He is proud his family got their land from a grant of the King of France and it's been two or three generations since any of them did work outside of politics and cashing trust checks. His daddy got him a West Point admittance.
Pockets are pretty deep.
