"Baker didn't do anything wrong with that hit," Vincent said. "When you look at the rule, he didn't do anything illegal. People can say it's a cheap shot and you can talk about whether it might fall under unsportsmanlike conduct. But when you know the rule and you look at the play, he didn't hit him in the head. He didn't hit him in the neck. We looked at it. I looked at it very closely. He's not going to be fined for that."

Yep, I totally agree. But I also like how his teammates came to his aid after that hit. Look, you're a football player. You should probably be looking around to get decleated at all times.

I'm all for real football, but with the way they have protected qb's over the last 6 years or so, how can that be deemed legal? At the very least it looks like he "launched" into foles. #92's feet almost come of the ground (lot of effort for a man his size).

Yea that was probably the best game of the year so far.

He led with his shoulder, hit below the neck, and his left foot never left the ground.

No player in the NFL should be pursing the ball as lethargically as Foles was on that play.

difference is that he wasnt in the pocket. he was chasing down a guy that picked him off. so its fair game

after an int or fumble, the QB is no longer a QB but a defender that is attempting to tackle the ball carrier.

taking a defender out of the play ensures that he will not bring down your ball carrier.

I can't imagine what that hit would look like on a regular-sized human.

It was cheap, but QB has to be looking for those type of hits after an INT.

I remember playing tackle football as a kid and each player keeping track of who was able to pull off this same hit the most.

I was very good at those hits (peel backs and cracks) in HS. I didn't really care about catching the ball because I wasn't going far with it anyway, but I loved some blindside shots.

In 1999, I'd agree with you. But the NFL has gone out of their way to protect the qb's, even after turnovers. The NFL suspended Sean Payton because the Saints defense layed out Kurt Warner (how many times was that hit played over and over?).

Just surprised by the NFL statement, that's all.

And yet Patrick Willis performs TWO textbook tackles last weekend and gets TWO 15 yard personal fouls.

This, if you fine a player for this hit, how do you enforce future hits if this one was not legal?
