Power I. We do not run it.

I'll go ahead and take the lashing, but this needs to stop. The power I has 3 backs plus the QB. It is this:
We run the I formation at times.
Carry on.

A true "I" formation has a FB with HB behind him. The power I has two FB's and HB.

I don't understand.

With the way teams are stacking the box, that formation still won't do a damn thing to move the chains. It will work against lesser competition, but in SEC play we won't gain more than 3 or 4 first downs using the same "run through wall" logic Miles has been thus far.

RA'd to delete post in fear that Miles reads the rant and implements this

Anything that is two tight ends with a fullback is going to be considered power I. This is like a heavy I or a Maryland I. shite don't work.

I believe what LSU runs is called the powerless I.

The Big I appears to be correct answer here.

we should run flexbone triple options all damn day. we'd score 70 pts a game with the skill players we have.

i thought we covered this last week...you really want CLM to run that

So last year when Jarvis Landry lined up adjacent to a tight end, is that considered Power I, because it's another guy inside the box?
ETA:
nevermind all of these dumb terms never mattered much to me anyway. power I, big I, etc. all that matters is the designed play to me. I could come out in "Power I" and throw it all day. I wonder if it would still be called Power I.
