You are claiming its 8 on 8 like that makes it "fair". FB sometimes goes out for passes and so do the TE's. Most offenses look for advantages not even numbers when they are trying to attack defenses.
Nothing you wrote here makes anything i actually typed incorrect. I typed that its not 5 v 8, and its not. Thus, execution CAN be the issue. Again, to reiterate, i am not attempting to champion anything but more accurate analysis.
However, your point about the fact that FB's go out for passes and so do TE's seems hardly relevant.
Would it matter to you that LB's and safeties generally are responsible for pass coverage?
To take those words to the extreme, DT's and DE's sometimes are dropped back in pass coverage when teams zone blitz.
-I agree that offense look for advantages.
A better point to talk about in complaining about this offensive formation and its crowding of the box is that in order to be a successful play, a higher percentage of the blockers need to perform their block successfully in order for the play to work.
When you widen your splits some and put more WR to the outside, you are guaranteeing a successful "block" on the play by that WR on the db covering him in the slot, for example, assuming the play is an up the middle run.
spreading the field magnifies individual matchups of blocker v. tackler. its more likely that 3/3 or 4/4 win in the matchup versus 8/8.

It hasn't worked this year...has it? Tell me one game where we executed and dominated with our power running game?

yet you argue about 8 vs 8...that is not an advantage even if blocks are executed.

Why do you think people want to spread the defense?

every fan who is pleading for us to spread the offense knows this.

My favorite part of our I back set is the FB waving his hand behind his butt to the RB. We might as well have th PA announcer scream "ITS A RUN - THE TIGERS ARE GOING TO RUN."

It has to be that you are just TRYING to argue here.
You attacked and disproved something i NEVER said. Well done!
I pointed out that its 8 v 8 because thats what is really happening, not 5 v 8. not once did i say it was an advantage, yet you say:
I agree.
the last two points you write are:
and
so what? what does that have to do with my hope to point out that its NOT 5 V 8 in a two TE, I formation with 8 men in the box?
Further, everyone here knows all of this according to you, including yourself who took my point and tried to lessen its potential validity by claiming a FB and TEs are not really good enough blockers to count or something along those lines because they go out for passes at times?
If you are trolling, nice job. For some reason i took the time to address this silliness. As you can see from my post count and when i signed up here, it doesn't happen often. Have a nice day.

So last year when Jarvis Landry lined up adjacent to a tight end, is that considered Power I, because it's another guy inside the box?
ETA:
nevermind all of these dumb terms never mattered much to me anyway. power I, big I, etc. all that matters is the designed play to me. I could come out in "Power I" and throw it all day. I wonder if it would still be called Power I.
"Dumb terms? " you're a moron. Coaches name formations and plays. They arent dumb terms. Idiot.

Power I
Weak I
Big I
All of these are heavy packages.
Stanford uses heavy packages too, but they utilize their TEs way more.
I wish people would stop referencing the dropped pass by Smith. Our WRs have dropped passes, but still see the field.
We have too much talent at WR to have only in the game when we are between the 20's. I understand goal line and being backed up, but between the 20's, we should be more open in our attack.

L5UT1ger give it up guy....you are correct. However the rantards are out in force. I've noticed in my many lurking years that actually trying to explain something after a loss, is a waste of effort. No offense would work if they planned for every man on the defense. Many defenders will be out of position and do not need to be accounted for or blocked in football. How many times have you geniuses seen a TD run where eleven defenders were blocked or counting the good blocks missed tackles and faked out have happened. Please show me at any level because I have missed it.

If they can't fricking execute the play then why the frick do we keep trying to run it? Maybe we don't have the personnel anymore? (Hint: the big FB from LaGrange, GA is no longer on the team).

I love Les. That being said, the wife and I have occasionally brought back our old Hallman cheer from way back:
"Up the middle, off tackle, drawwwwww, punt!
