Is it true that Miles wanted to go to UM in 07 but their AD messed it up?

Some UM clowns on reddit are convinced that Les wanted to go there in '07 and '11 but their AD "messed it up both times."

They're saying things like "Les would never say no to Michigan" and "it wasn't his choice to stay at LSU"

These dipshits are delusional, correct?

probably, I mean everyone in the nation was saying Miles to UM in 07 than he came out and shut all that down.

Either Miles was lying or someone is just trying to shine a negative light on Miles. I'll go with the later.

Miles was not about to leave LSU right before we played in the national championship game.

He didn't have to leave before, Pelini left after.

Not a chance. An LSU fan would not start a shitty thread like this on 7 year old rumors.

He turned them down in 11. Their AD flew to BR but it turned into a consulting trip instead

Has the interview he gave to a michigan paper this summer been posted here?

If not, here:

LINK

On 2007:

quote:

"To be real honest, there's still a lot of heartfelt emotions surrounding that time for me," Miles told MLive on Thursday in Detroit. "It's not something that I go by very comfortably.
I recognize the investment Michigan put in me, and I certainly am in to debt of Michigan and the coaches and the people I was around. It's a debt you want to pay. You want to re-pay. I had recruited an entire building (at LSU), and every coach in the building, we had just won a big time championship. It was very difficult for me to minimize what they had accomplished.

"I really had no other opportunity to visit with anybody until after the national championship game. And they had a coach by the time that came around."

I have read in numerous articles that Carr is a big problem for Michigan and he did not want Miles.

I know a lot of people want Les to go to Michigan, but honestly if I were Michigan, I would go after Harbaugh. He obviously wants out at SF.

AD screwing up the Miles process has been a rumor for quite some time. It's gotten new legs because:

a) the current AD (and the one that supposedly boned the 2011 effort) is on his way out;

b) Hoke (the 2011 hire) is not far behind.

The planets have never really been aligned for Miles to bolt to UM; however, this could be different. LSU's on its way to possibly its worst record during Miles' tenure and UM would be begging for him.

I do not want to see CLM leave. (see Nebraska and Tenn), but, what are the best options for LSU to consider should he go? Is CC a viable option?

As infuriating as Miles is, I don't want to think about another coaching search. Too many "flavor of the month" guys out there.
