He just said that Mullens concentrated more on him, while Miles' recruitment was toward his mom, since he was still seventeen at the time. She really was pushing LSU, but he liked MSU.

Also he defended Day's position that he was just trying to make a play. BS.
Seems like a decent kid and obviously good ball player.

It's been discussed here. Check the article's date.

Not trying to be a dick.

ETA: I have a hard time believing that Dak would have looked as good here as he does at Miss State. Our QBs haven't been subpar simply for want of talent. I mean, how unlucky would we have to be in recruiting to get like five or six straight 4-star and 5-star (Shep) busts?

State was easily the better fit for Dak as a player. I'll be pulling for him for the rest of the season

I don't have a problem believing this at all. Sounds like the exact same situation as Landon Collins and his momma to me.

Same here. No hate for Dak. I hope he goes on to do great things. I won't hold anything against Miss State unless they don't punish that POS Dillon Day.

You know damned well I'm not referring to Mett. I'm talking about the 17yos we bring in straight from momma.

He's easy to pull for over anyone else in the SEC IMO. Seems like a good guy and State fans deserve a good season from their team. Rather them over Bama, Aggy, Ole Miss, Aub, or Arky.

Coaches usually focus on the most influential person in a recruits life, the mom.

Wut. Coaches focus on the recruit, first and foremost.

Who were these 5 or 6 "busts"???

And I'm rooting for Dak the rest of the way. Seems like a good kid. I actually respect that he stuck by his MSU commitment to Mullen after he blew up his senior season.

If LSU isn't winning the West, I'd sure as hell prefer MSU to win it than anyone else.

No, but I darn sure would have taken him over Rivers and Randall.
