Made the thread with my phone which is obsessed with auto-correct. Didn't even notice it.

Could you try a few different shades of green? Really like it so far

Is there any way to texture it to make it look like grass a little bit? I think that might be a cool effect, especially since we have the lines for a field and everything.

I wouldn't worry about making it a smaller field. I think it works well the way you have it. The one thing that could be fixed is the "width" of the pitch. Look at how close the touchline at the top is to the edge of the green. Now compare it to the touch line at the bottom. See the difference? I think the bottom touchline needs to be moved down. This would also allow the markings for the penalty area to better "frame" the text on either end. That way you would see the lines of the penalty area below the "TI" as well as above it.

I definitely agree with you. I was concerned it would be too close, but I got sidetracked with FIFA and programming work overnight. I'll tweak it a bit later.

As for adding the grass texture, I'm not sure it'd work well. I could try, but I'm not sure it would fit without the entire theme going to a grass texture. I'll definitely try it out, though, along with some other shades of green.

Fantastic work, Dijkstra!!
One compromise on the ball? Perhaps stick with the Brazuca until the 2018 ball comes out, then change it to that one? I realize you lot like some amount of change on a more regular basis than an old fart like me.

I'm not a huge Brazil fan, but since they have been, historically, the best keep the color scheme in their colors?

OR switch to the current champion, which of course is already partly represented in the letters anyway.

I had to go out of town for a few days suddenly and didn't get to work on anything. I'll have some free time tomorrow to look mess with it a bit more.

So, after leaving town for a few days and getting a bit sick, I've finally had time to toy with it a bit. I revised the lines as was suggested. I also toyed with a grass texture, but it'd be annoying to base the theme on it. Because of that, I figured I could just put it on the field. Personally, I like it better without, but since I support an open, democratic process, I did my duty. I'm including the hex color codes to allow for easy integration into the site. The current board theme's hex color is #006400. I just realized mine uses #006600. Even though it's really minor, I'll get it changed across the few drafts using it. Since I have a bunch done now, though, I'll show the ones I have.

Drafts

Option A (#006600):

Option B (#0d4b07):

Option C (#0a3705):

Option D (#006600 w/ grass):

Option E (#0d4b07 w/ grass):

Option F (#0a3705 w/ grass):

I'm surprised by the early support for D. I didn't think the grass versions would get much support.

I think the way you approached it works well. Grass texture only within the lines.

Thanks. The hardest part was finding a decent texture to use or how to make one without it looking awful. A part of me thinks this should possibly be turned into a new thread because I feel like it may get missed since it's a bit older. Should I go for that or wait it out?

If we could get a new thread stickied on the top, that would be solid.

I also like D. I do think that the letters are a little biased though because everyone on the soccer board likes the D.

I think we need to have a vote on admin too. Even if Chicken doesn't allow it, we could at least present him with a suggestion. If someone posted porn on this board, it would probably last for a full 24 hours.

I'll make a new thread, and we can request sticky for it. All changes could stay in the OP, and I could keep it updated. If you guys could also repost your "votes" in the new thread, that'd be awesome.
