They don't exist for the team to wear, they exist for you to buy.

The ironic part is that most cheapasses here will get their jersey from China. AliExpress

Uh, yeah.

One man's trash is another man's treasure, I guess. The over-saturation of that ugly green does it in.

Sixers and Celtics are classic arse historic jerseys. Don't be comparing this red abomination to two classics.

Being old doesn't make them less ugly. Also, the Sixers change their entire branding about every 10 years. If they were so classic, that wouldn't be the case.

Outside of the Sixers instead of Phila, and a few subtle design changes those are pretty much the exact same thing

Yea those black/white with the basketball with stripes behind it Iverson-era ones were bad, but thats the only time I can think of that they ever changed them drastically

I'd like these jerseys a lot more if so many teams didn't wear red. Looks sharp though

uni-watch responds:

Pelicans. There were several problems with the Pelicans' inaugural home and road uniforms. For starters, there was no use of the team name -- an odd move when you've just changed the name of your franchise. Also, the "New Orleans" lettering on the front of the jerseys was actually smaller than the player names on the back. The team's new red alternate jersey solves both of those problems. The red uni will be worn on opening night Oct. 28, and for a handful of other games during the season (further info here). It's good to see the team's name on the chest, but still -- solid red? What a lazy default option, especially for a team that plays in a city with such a rich chromatic heritage. Remember the Hornets' Mardi Gras uniform? That's the kind of thing a New Orleans team should be doing. I wouldn't go so far as to call this uniform Stupid, but it's definitely Not Good Enough.

I like the alternates. It's not like they're the permanent ones so no need to fuss.

if you want more flash in your Pelicans uniforms... just wait a year... remember it was announced at last year's reveal that a 4th uni will come out next offseason

that should be the more vibrant, busy, fun uniform

Add me to the "those are boring" chorus. Red is way overdone, especially in the NBA and those have nothing unique going for them. Purely a cash grab for extra merchandising.

Not a huge deal, but definitely lame, IMO.

Really all of the Pels jerseys are pretty disappointing. The logo is still badass though and I think that is more important. They will change the uni's again in a few years.
