It's really NOT the I formation

If Les wants to run the I then dammit Les - start running it. Get your arse up to Stanford & learn what a dynamic I formation offense is. Talk to Paul Chryst, Willie Taggert or that goober head at Colorado State that used to be Bama's OC. Hell, look at some old Michigan film from the 70's. Bo was averaging 40 points a game in a league where defenses were built to STOP the I. Surely he didn't run the same play, the same way and just fail at it.
You just can't play an entire game with the 'protect the ball, run the clock and minimize as much risk as possible through play calling' I formation Les runs. Les calls it the "shell game". Great, fantastic - use it when we are up by 6 touchdowns.
I'm on the road working and I usually talk about football when I put my 5 year old to sleep. He doesn't know what I'm talking about but I always feel better.
