Sean Taylor (RIP). One of the best safeties

Sean Taylor was one of the best football players I've ever seen on tv and in person.
Do you think if that tragic incident never happened, he would have become the best safety to ever play the game?
I truly believe he would be considered not only the best at his position but maybe even one of the best football players to ever lace them up.

He would have had potential to be an all time great, but I think the rule changes would have hurt him

He was a baller but come on.....that is a little crazy!

I could see people vilifying him because of the all out way he played and with the new rule changes. With that said, Sean Taylor would've definitely been one of the best safeties in the league right now.

Beast. One of the hard-hitting most fun-to-watch players ever

Tragic situation. He was a good player but I don't know about one of the greatest ever.

Sucks but all 3 if those tackles would be penalties in today's NFL.

Last one would definitely be a "defenseless" receiver penalty

That young man definitely had HOF potential

I still think Ronnie Lott is the GOAT safety, and my homerism would take Atwater any day over Taylor.

Sean Taylor was a hell of a player but he would have never approached Ed reed or Ronnie Lott. I think rod Woodson was a better corner for sure, but rod was also a great safety and I would likely take him over Sean as well
But that is probably as far as I would go before taking Sean. Atwater was a monster, but I would take Sean over him and Darren Woodson to name a couple

Ps, my fave combo ever was Atwater and Dennis smith. Dennis with his oversized shoulder pads couldn't cover anyone but would lay you clean out

Broncos gotta bring back that mid-80's helmet/uni combo at least a couple times.
