Nothing Like a GREAT Day of NFL Football to Save the NFL from Itself

Sure, the naysayers will still be around this week, but I bet you can count on one hand the number of people who decided not to tune in today because of the NFL's controversies. As long as the on-feild product remains as good as it is (and it was fantastic today), the NFL will pretty much be above reproach.

Good luck to anyone trying to bring this behemoth (or its commissioner) down. The NFL is as strong as ever.

Team Goodel. Saints are just cheaters who paid for play.

Today kind of sucked actually. There's usually more close games.

Great defense, great offense, close games, comebacks, upsets, nailbiters - today had everything, as far as I'm concerned. I was entertained by every game I watched.

Couldn't catch any games today, but I'm guessing everything you listed were in maybe 3 games total.

Only thing I remember from NFL was that terrible Kid Rock Chevy Truck commercial 1000X,

The two best games of the week:

1. bench clearing brawl
2. let's remember how stupid overtime is

Get back to me when you stop watching games. Otherwise, stop being a hypocrite. Stop supporting the league with your viewership if you hate it so much.

My point is, you won't. As I said in the OP, the bitchers and moaners will still be around, but come Sunday, they'll either be sitting in a stadium or sitting in front of a TV - generating NFL dollars.

Nothing. Every week is great IMO. Every game is dramatic and entertaining in some way (except maybe the Jaguars').

We don't matter. Hardcores will mostly stay.

If women, casual fans, and advertisers leave, uh-oh.

I will watch the games, but I PROMISE YOU I will not do the following ever again until Roger Goodell is gone (and I have done all of them in the past):

1. buy Sunday Ticket
2. buy Red Zone channel
3. buy NFL licensed apparel
4. buy a ticket to an NFL game
5. go to a sports bar
6. watch NFL Network
7. watch ANY NFL program that is not the game itself

This weekend I had the games on as background noise while I cleaned the house and get some things ready for work Monday. And that includes the Saints game.

Is this a post meant for last Sunday? Because THAT was a great day of football. Today was very average.

Saints game was completely unmemorable outside of the body slam.

You are a very rare fan indeed, then. It's actually hard for me to believe that - but I'll take you at your word. At any rate, until a much larger portion of the NFL's fan base makes similar ultimatums, the league will go on with business as usual. And business is booming.

SEA-DEN was good(it should be)

PHI/WAS had zero defense but good offense.

Everything else was mediocre/below par.
