Our run defense has actually been fairly solid.

Gave up 37 to Atlanta. Only gave up 17 to Cleveland which was our average last year. Only gave up 9 today.

i think next week will be interesting.

first prime time game, on the road, against a beatable defense and an offense with a great run game and a premier receiver.

itll be a good test on both sides of the ball.

True but Cleveland put up 27 and 21 in their other two games against Pittsburgh and Baltimore respectively. Minnesota put up 34 on STL before getting demolished by NE.

I has a dissapoint.

ok not really - once we have a few more games at home we'll be top 3-4, and with that and our new-found ability to run the ball, assusming we commit to it of course, we could be developing a nice formula to win games however we need to based on the conditions and the defenses we see for the back-end of the season.

That balance is something we havent seen since 09. Yall remember that year?

Random fact, look at our pass:run ratio

Minnesota
35 pass attempts (293 yards, 8.4 y/a, 2TDs)
29 rush attempts (110 yards, 3.8ypc, taking out brees' 2 knees)
1.2:1

Cleveland:
40 pass attempts (237 yards, 5.9 y/a, 2TD, 1INT)
27 rush attempts (174 yards, 6.4ypc, 1TD)
1.48:1

Atlanta:
42 pass attempts (333 yards, 7.9 y/a, 1TD, 1INT)
28 rush attempts (139 yards, 5.0ypc, 3TDs)
1.5:1

We're running the ball very well.

I'm quite encouraged by it.

Although the Vikings offense sucks the red zone defense was encouraging. I was digging the 3 safety sets since it seemed like we didn't see much of that the first two games. I also liked seeing Byrd playing a bit of single high safety which is which is what I thought we brought him here for in the first place. I think the defense will come along the more the season goes on.

Also, I don't like the fact that they're trying to give Vaccaro a more "defined" role. I think he needs to be utilized in any position necessary. He played so well last year being a "rover".
