Turn the offense over to Cameron

I have had enough of the junior high type of offense that we have run for years. Every opponent knows what we will do and will just load the box. I do believe in running the ball, but when the defense is deployed in a way to take that away, you go to the passing game. Think about this, we sent Mettenberger, Landry, Beckham, Hill, Turner, Blue, etc. as offensive players to the NFL yet we struggled to a 5-3 SEC record last year. It is time to get rid of the two and three tight end sets and spread the field to run and throw. We do not have the talent on offense to run the ball down people's throats. Our offensive line is not that good period; the talent level there is below par. Give up the offense Les or move on. I respect what you have accomplished at LSU, but the old school approach to offense will not work.

This is Cameron's offense. He made it clear to Les that he wouldn't take the job unless he had total control. If he had an issue with the way things were, Cam would have bolted after last season.

This isn't his offense. This is Miles' offense of the Jefferson years.

He was fired because they felt he was throwing too much and not feeding Ray Rice enough. I'd say we have the opposite problem, which leads me to believe Miles has his hands all up in the offense right now.

It's the one toe in the old and one in the new... With commitment to both... = neither. My daughter, who knows zip about football knew everything LSU was doing on both sides of the ball except the trick plays... We're rutted in ego that says we're bigger and more powerful than you are... Miss State threw us around like rag dolls.

You are right. Who else is major college runs this typed of offense? The answer is very few. Look at the systems run by A&M, Ole MIss, Alabama (yes they are much more wide open than us), Auburn, etc. LSU and Florida are pretty much in the same boat in terms of offensive systems. I do not want to stop running the ball, but I do want to spread the field and run a more modern offense.

Problem is we still have to play 8 games this year. Not sure we can change philosophies successfully entering our toughest part of the schedule. Oh and CLM will never give up the I

He might be calling the plays but it's very clear that miles chooses the type of scheme we run.

I want to believe that. I really do. However this offense looks strikingly similar to 09-10 under Crowton, and 11-12 under Stud.
Now I don't think Les is "calling the plays", but he is dictating the very conservative approach. It was just enough in 09-12 when you had a dominant D. That has changed though. LSU has been very weak in the front 7 for two years now. The O is going to have to come out of their comfort zone if they want to compete in a very good, very balanced SEC West. If the HC doesn't realize that, then you're looking at the last place SEC West team

Yes, we have to go with Harris. I know he will struggle, but he has talent. I am sorry to say that Jennings does not. What really surprises my about Jennings is his total lack of speed and/or quickness. I also think he has trouble going through progressions.

Yes this is his offense. It's the same look we ran last year and it was more sophisticated pro-style I formation offense than we ran the year before. We just don't have an NFL QB, 2 NFL WR's, & an NFL lineman playing guard.

I want the best QB to play. However what evidence is there that Harris would do any better than Jennings when put in the same scenario? BH came in when MSU was in prevent and just trying to run out the clock, and LSU had to spread it out and throw. If he starts, do you really think Les and co. change the offense? I don't. That poor kid would have as little a chance to play to his strengths as AJ does.
