Patrick Robinson might not start or might be...INACTIVE!

Fans who have made cornerback Patrick Robinson the target of all their frustration for the failures of the Saints' defense may finally get their wish. It appears highly unlikely that Robinson will start on Sunday against the Vikings. There's at least a chance he won't even be active (although recent injury additions could render that point moot).

Our #1 free agency target better be 1 or 2 corners who are vets and have shown they can play in this league.
Screw drafting corners.

Too bad Ingram got injured, we actually could've traded him this season. Baltimore and Minny come to mind, and there is another team or two that have essentially nothing at RB.

Tracy Porter and Corey White worked out okay. But Greer and Lewis are better.
Not sure how much money we have, but the pickings at cornerback in free agency look a little slim.
May have to draft a guy like Ifo Ekpre-Olomu or Trae Waynes to be the 2nd CB. However, a better defensive scheme might help the CBs not have to cover guys for four minutes on each pass play.

CB's and QB's gotta be the hardest to get right.

I think we need to build from the front->back
Carolina did: 1st and 2nd rounders on DTs, 1st rounder on ILB, and their secondary has garbage names. Yet they're one of the best defenses in the league
We need to draft a DT, ILB, and CB in the first 3 rounds. 4th rounder you can try a Guard or something.

I'm not against keeping Ingram. I doubt he can demand a high salary.

You obviously have never seen Sean Payton's big board...He would never relinquish 3 straight picks in a draft that didnt involve an offensive skill player being selected.
He loves watching ESPN talk about new weapons for Drew on draft day...he FAPS annually to those segments.

I'm fine with letting White step up as the #2 guy. Let Baptist get nickel reps to get his feet wet

I can't believe whatever Bailey and Greer have left wouldn't be better for the team than Robinson

I'm honestly shocked we didn't just keep Bailey on just incase. His experience and leadership would have been good to have.

even Roman Harper has an INT so far this season

I really hope McCown is still the Bucs starter when we play them.

unless Glennon lights it up should McCown miss time w/ his thumb injury suffered Thursday night... I'm guessing McCown will be the QB we face in 3 weeks when TB comes to town

yeah.
i feel like if we had more versatile ILB's the D would be better. Lofton is a pretty good hard nosed player who can play the run well most of the time I guess.
but we don't have the backers who can run with TE's or track RB's all that well in the passing game.
it isn't even really about having superb coverage all the time either. Sometimes you just need guys to be in decent spots in the coverage underneath for just a moment or two to make the QB hold the ball a tad longer.
the Falcons gutted the Saints with the underneath stuff to Douglas and Hester. Sure, the safeties were playing deep but wouldn't it be nice if we had a LB that could have some kind of impact in coverage?
that was something Vilma was good at when he first got here.

Just need an ILB that can make an important stop on 3rd and long. One stop is enough to make a difference.
As for us, I think we didn't go DL this year just based off how well we played last year. I don't think anyone anticipated such a drastic dropoff in production from our DTs.
