Red Light Ticket in BR

Got a notice in the mail that I took a right on red, but didn't come to a complete stop before doing so. This was at the Sherwood Forest and Coursey intersection. I've read enough on here to not want to pay it, but if I get pulled over in BR for anything, can they see that I never paid this thing?

Don't pay. But look up the video link and make yourself go slow, fast, reverse, forward, etc.

not suppose to be on your driving record, so my guess is no.

What do you mean by this?

From what I've read, the idea behind this is that they don't know it was me driving, so I shouldn't be held accountable simply because the vehicle is in my name.

When they send you the ticket there is a printed link so you can see their "proof". It's you, in your car, breaking the law.
Idk I thought it was hilarious. I Kept moving the car fast and slow, backwards and forwards on the computer.
This was several years ago. We got 2 threatening letters and that's it. Nothing to worry about. It's a private company and they can't do anything to you.

I got one and just paid the fine. Why worry about it for the next few years?

Theres nothing to worry about, you are paying a private company. It doesnt even hit the desk of the court system. Do you have a court date? If no, then it won't haunt you, because you never got the chance to represesnt yourself in a court of law, a right which every American has when they are actually charged with breaking the law.

Unlike NOLA BR won't boot your car if you don't pay.

1. Real tickets will instruct you to contact the court to resolve matter in question while fake tickets (ATS and RedFlex) may tell you not to contact the court. Fake tickets are sent via regular US Postal Mail service, but appear to be "official," which they are not. Criminal citations are sent by registered or certified mail.
2. In Louisiana, RLC and speed camera citations are NOT a criminal offense. They are treated as CIVIL matter, partly because the OWNER of the vehicle is issued the citation (doesn't matter who is driving) and if contested, you won't be awarded the opportunity to go before a judge. Instead, you will have a hearing with an Administrative Adjudication officer (city appointed).
3. CIVIL offenses are NOT reported to the Louisiana DMV or your insurance company.
4. In Baton Rouge, city officials will NOT turn over your Social Security Number to a private company (ATS and RedFlex).
5. If unpaid fine goes on your credit report, simply dispute online with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Ask them to investigate and validate the debt owed. ATS and RedFlex must provide proof that you entered into an agreement for goods or services or signed promissory note.
6. If threatened with a collection notice or a harassing phone call, do the math. ATS and RedFlex send out thousands upon thousands citations each and every day. This is profitable for them to do, because many people are scared into thinking they have to pay (the media plays a large part in this) and because it's the "right thing to do." But think about the numbers ...
In Los Angeles alone, there are over 50 K red light camera tickets that remain unpaid. In Nassau County, the county has failed to collect on $10 million in unpaid red light camera fines. And in East Baton Rouge parish alone, almost half of the red light tickets for CITY PARISH vehicles have NOT been paid.
One Rule for the City of Baton Rouge. Another rule for the citizens of Baton Rouge.
What's the bottom line? If you think for one minute that a company such as ATS or RedFlex, both of whom are located out of state, are going to take the time, energy and resources (think out of state costs, attorney fees and court cost) to go after you in a court of law for a fine of less than $500.00, pay it.
But if you're like me and are willing to take the "risk," toss it and go on with your life and don't look back!

I filed it away in the circular file.

No. She'd probably pay it if she received one.

Request a hearing. When you go to court they'll review the video and determine if you or someone driving your car ran it. If you did run it, they'll knock the fine in half for challenging it.

Great points by WC, I will just add to never ever go online to any link to view the camera. When you do that you weaken one of your defenses (that you were never properly served or received actual notice).

Listen to Will. Got one of these a couple of years ago and never paid it. They sent a few nasty letters and I even got one from some "law office" from Arizona I think. Ignored them all and haven't heard anything for over a year. I have renewed my DL and registration since with no issues.
It's a bunch of bullshite.
