Question about Herron and other backup DTs

Does anyone with any real inside knowledge have any idea if these guys are going to get involved in the DT rotation anytime soon? What's the latest?
Is it still a disciplinary issue with Herron, or is he just not ready to see the field significantly? Last I heard Miles called him a "beast". I think that confused me more than anything. Does Les have a different definition of the word beast?

I am not doubting you. I'm just sure people are interested in hearing a few more details.

This is the biggest WTF of the season this far. I thought we would be 5 or 6 deep at tackle by this point.

DT is our weakest link. Hopefully the young guys have their lights come on soon.

Apparently the 2013 dline haul was horribly missed. We signed Bain, Gilmore, Herron, Neal, and Lacouture. Only Lacouture has played meaningful snaps and true freshman have passed the others in week 1.
Baffling.

Yeah, I thought this at first when I saw Godchaux getting the snaps. But now that I've watched him play I think it's similar to the cornerbacks last year. When Rashard and Tre passed Collins, it wasn't because Collins sucked; it was because Rashard and Tre are All-American level talents. Same is true of Godchaux.
It normally takes two years before linemen make a great impact. Those guys haven't completed their second year yet. Already we have one proven commodity (Lacouture), one showing signs of future greatness (Neal), and two getting snaps and holding their own (Bain and Heron). Only Gilmore is a candidate for Mickey Johnson style anonymity. I like the outlook.

If they haven't played by now you shouldn't count on them in SEC play barring any injuries.

The bottom line is they arent good enough. The coaches only feel comfortable playing 3 DTs in the rotation right now in LaCouture, Thomas and Godchaux with Lewis Neal, a DE, seeing spot time.
The fact Thomas is playing with a torn bicep and Lewis a 255 pound DE is playing in front of guys like Herron, Bain and Gilmore should tell you what the coaches think about them right now.
This could have a been a much better season if all this hoopla around Valentine didnt get blown up.

does Neal actually play more than Herron? I get that it's surprising that he's playing at all over the other 2, but not sure he gets in more than Herron does.
