Carrabba's last night..

Hadn't been in a couple of years. Decided to give it another shot based on seeing it here on the "approved" chain restaurant list.
Had the Alfredo Weezie. Basically Alfredo with Shrimp. Except they tossed the shrimp in garlic butter mushroom sauce. That might work fine for a solo shrimp dish but it really offed the Alfredo sauce. Either that or the Alfredo sauce is just really weak to being with.
Wife had some beef skewers. Flavor was pretty good. But the meat was so tough I literally struggled to cut it with a serated knife. Chewing it was an adventure - like a huge chunk of gristle. Had to chomp and chomp just to finally get it down. Really should have sent it back.
Got the Arancini --new appetizer on the menu. Nothing spectacular but tasty enough for a chain restaurant.--would order again..
Wife liked the Tiramisu. But she was pretty drunk. I was disappointed. You'd think an Italian restaurant could at least put out a decent one.
Decent low priced wine selection. Tin Roof on Tap. Liked the atmosphere, nice friendly, competent, waitstaff. Prices Ok if food would be up to par for that type of chain.
I'd be willing to give it another shot, but maybe somebody could steer me to the particular dishes they like there.

Meh, next time try the Olive Garden.

Not sure why but that made me chuckle.

You took my wife out to dinner?
How were the portion sizes? Had a lot of portion haters on here not long ago.
I've been once in BR and once I think in Phoenix but I was kinda like your wife last night so the city is a bit fuzzy. For the same amount of money I can go to Pinetta's, Gino's, Nino's and Digiulio's all which are locally owned and much better.
And I'm not a chain hater, just better options. I'm going to Flemings right now to get a burger in the bar.

Heh. I was trying not to be TOO negative.

I'm not really a chain hater either, I usually lower my expectations accordingly. But I was major disappoint even that that level. It was just way closer than the better local options and I didn't want to drive tougher after drinking. .

Have seen many on here that gave it a thumbs up for a chain. Tried it for the first time about a month ago, 'ain't' much better than the Olive Garden to me. Chain it is, and even more expensive than OG (not that I like OG, I don't).

meh, would rather eat at Pizza Hut or Domino's but not Papa John's

I think they make a good steak. I usually get the Filet Marsala or Filet Bryan, and it's legit. Scotty Thompson app is also very good. As far as chains go, it's near the top of my list.

Polo Rosa Maria or their grilled pork chop. Have had it numerous times and have never really been disappointed. Calamari has always been good to me. Really anything on their grilled section is pretty good. I'd never go there and get spagetthi or lasagna or a normal Italian dish.

I'm a food snob, I suppose. Last time I went to Carrabba's, I left pissed. I thought absolutely sucked.

My parents always rave about the pizza. I like their steaks and the house dressing is pretty great. There's by the house that we go to once a year or so.

Brah, you should have got the Scotty Thompson and just drank a bunch.
