If you look really closely, you can make out one of the alien ships from Independence Day.

Much of California is in deep trouble if they don't get some precip. this winter. The drought has been going on 3 years..

i was hoping the hurricane might help, but it didn't produce much rain in the US at all. CA is in serious trouble.

So, from this view, it appears this is on the west (CA) side of the lake. Do you know if it's closer to Tahoe City, Homewood or S. Lake Tahoe?

Here's the incident page. You can zoom in on the map. Short answer, all three would technically be in the path, but it has quite a ways to go. It would have to be a zombie apocalypse fire to threaten them at this time. But, conditions are so favorable, something could very easily start closer and blow up very fast. Like Roger said, all of CA is under the gun.

California has much more serious issues than lack of rain fall. And has for a long time.

Actually not. If this megadrought continues, it will dwarf all the other problems. And not just CA, but the entire southwest.

It depends where you are I guess. My neighbors and family all help each other out and take care of business. We don't look for assistance and expect no sympathy.

Maybe you'll never need any help from anybody. But maybe you'll find yourself in a situation you can't handle yourself. Be careful having an indifferent attitude at someone else's misfortune. Karma has a way of evening things out.
