He didn't even look that bad at the end. Was able to walk off like it was no big deal. Figured he would have hit the deck the second the hour was up.

Congrats Jens, we'll miss you in (whatever he did)!

how do you reset records??
so the guy set a world record that they started recording in May. hold on, wait, i'll go bake him a cookie.

However, In May, the UCI hit the reset button on the hour record, opening the door for a record attempt by Voigt.
Both the Athlete’s Hour and Best Human Effort were scrapped in favor of a single hour record with regulations in line with modern UCI track rules

At first I thought it said Jon Voight (sp?). That would've been quite surprising.

I can't be the only one that read this as Jon Voight

There used to be different rules. You used to be able to ride with a super aerodynamic position and bike. They stopped that some years back and said you had to ride with road bike like setup. After that, the hour record basically died off as an event. They changed it this year so you can used track bikes. Basically, the equipment standards now are faster than a few years ago, but slower than back in the day when most of the records were set.

I read that as Jon Voight. I figured there must be a Seinfeld joke in here somewhere.

That is incredible.

370W seems low for Jens. He's a pretty big (relatively speaking) guy.

Jens is super cool and rides like a mad man.
I hope he starts doing American TV coverage of races in his retirement. His English is excellent, and he was very articulate and made good observations when he sat in the booth for a while at the Tour this year.
