Didn't get to watch the UCLA vs UT game this past weekend, but all I've heard from my UT buddy is that Swoops is the real deal. He tends to be wrong quite a bit so I wouldn't be surprised if he is full of shite here.

He's raw as shite but has potential. Ideally he would have sat at least another year for them

He came from a very small school so the competition made him look great.
He's a looooong way from being a good college QB. How fast and how much he develops is a question only time will tell. One thing for sure, he's getting baptism by fire.

UT has an awful team.

They don't throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield right now, so it's too early to tell.

I think Ohio State got the better Texas quarterback in JT Barrett but I'm biased so there's that.

He was pretty heavily recruited and Texas fans compared him to Vince Young

He might be 3rd string at Baylor, maybe.

But I agree he does have potential.

It's hard to accurately judge Swoopes bc UCLA as a team is kind of a shite show.

He's definitely a downgrade from David Ash.

I'm sure he thought Case McCoy was the real deal too.

He's got a ton of talent. Kid could be pretty great if he develops right.

Was VERY raw when he was recruited and Brown wasted a year of his eligibility last season.

Went 1-9 his senior year in 1A football

Everyone has been pleasantly surprised with Swoopes.

The gameplan has been very conservative though. We'll see, but IMO it's pretty clear he's better than "overthrow" Ash.
