This fact says it all.

If U.S. federal spending was the same in 2013 as 2005, there would have been a $230 billion surplus.

Welcome to the board, Dan. Two questions:

1. Who's alter are you?
2. If you are not an alter what motivated you to join the board just before mid terms?

To answer your OP... All govt spending is designed to do Goodness. If you are opposed then you must be for Badness.

spending is not the problem. It's pissing away the money that's a problem and not spending it on the right things. In addition, not getting revenues on so much hidden bs that is a problem that would solve many problems. As long as people can hide income from taxes, there will be a shortfall.

And who's fault is that? You seem to be suggesting that the people we give our money to are incapable of spending it wisely.

So I will ask you... Why continue to give money to them? Would you increase the budget to an employee that routinely wastes it?

As long as people know their hard earned money is being wasted by corrupt thieving incompetents they will continue to hide it.

Theft is stealing revenues that belong to the government through taxation by hiding them overseas.

To libertarians all taxation is theft. To Marxists all profit is gross (ha). Taxes are the price for living in society

Anyone with common sense knows spending is the problem. But you have Democrats who praise government spending so they cannot, and will not, admit that its a problem and will in fact claim the actual problem is that we don't tax people enough.

and you have your head up your derriere. If you belong to society, you need to contribute to society by paying tour taxes that's your responsibility. You (Not you personally) may hide in deep dark Alabama, away from the world, but face facts, this is the world today. Libertarian bs has no place is the real world.
