This fact says it all.
If U.S. federal spending was the same in 2013 as 2005, there would have been a $230 billion surplus.

2. If you are not an alter what motivated you to join the board just before mid terms?
To answer your OP... All govt spending is designed to do Goodness. If you are opposed then you must be for Badness.

spending is not the problem. It's pissing away the money that's a problem and not spending it on the right things. In addition, not getting revenues on so much hidden bs that is a problem that would solve many problems. As long as people can hide income from taxes, there will be a shortfall.

Anyone with common sense knows spending is the problem. But you have Democrats who praise government spending so they cannot, and will not, admit that its a problem and will in fact claim the actual problem is that we don't tax people enough.
