I can somewhat agree with you on the right girl in pixie cut (Michelle Williams), BUT most of the girls that wear these haven't been seen with long hair. Long hair is definitely more feminine and hot. See Michelle Williams in Oz the Great and Powerful

For you in La, you should rest easy because this look went out years ago. My fiance' laughed her arse off when we saw that all over LSU last year for a game. She mentioned it was like going back in time.
Hopefully soon it will go away for you. It only shows its ugly head around rodeo time around here but it's quickly vanquished.
