Make sure you continue to mow it well in March, April while your centipede is trying to wake up (or it will suffer.)

Gotta get a roller for your mower so you can have patterns in your yard when you cut... one up !!

the only thing that I know of is that it looks nice...

the negative is that you will be mowing your arse off in the spring while others' lawns are still dormant...mowing twice a week is also why you won't see the winter weeds...

Yep, but I don't think its the healthiest thing for your centipede, but if you want it, do it.

I did it last year. Looked great but still got some clover. Pain in the arse, will not do it again.

If you're gonna do it, do it right and plant a three-way (turf) rye, and not the pasture rye. That way you're not cutting a wet, deck-clogging lawn all winter. Huge, huge difference, hence the large price difference in the two varieties.

Even turf rye can be a bit of a pain. I cut my baseball field every other day so it doesnt theow thatch. Any less than twice a week and you have a mess

Best thing to do with rye is take some to your alabama fan friends. Spell out lsu in seeds in his front yard. Pretty funny

Cutting it once, if not twice a week. We had a very wet winter too that only made it worse. I uses turf rye too.

dont overseed. I'm told that if you plant it too heavy, it can ruin your centipede and you have a nice dead yard come summer.
