Losing Weight

Hoping to get serious response and not the fatty comments.
Anyone have success stories to share on losing weight in the late 30s/early40s. Typical story - I was active in high school, but got to college, gained some weight, got married, gained some more weight, had kids, gained some more weight.
I need to lose probably 50 lbs. I'm not at the buffet every night or anything, but I don't eat rabbit food either. Hard to work a gym routine into a busy schedule of career and family.
Any tips.

Eat right and run. When you start dropping the weight, try one of the beachbody programs.

I would not recommend an ECA stack. I don't condone fat burning pills that actually somewhat work.

You can wake up earlier and go walking or jogging a few days a week

Eat less, move around more. Seriously. Start counting calories and exercising (walking or jogging).

Cut your calorie intake down pretty good.
You'd be surprised how many calories you can cut out just by thinking about. No sodas, candy, go wheat bread instead of white, drink a lot of water, drink a G2 instead of a regular Gatorade, if you happen to end up at mcdonalds for some get a grilled chicken and no fries etc etc. just small things add up
Just be aware of what you're eating

You're looking at major, long-term lifestyle changes if you want to lose that kind of weight and keep it off.
What's your current diet?
What's your current exercise program?

First, don't give me that "too busy" bullshite. You are making excuses before you even start. 2nd, it's simple. Calories in versus calories out. Use something like the My Fitness Pal app for a while. Track everything you eat. You are eating and drinking a lot more than you think. I'll be up at 4:40 tomorrow to swim 1.5 miles before waking my kid up and having breakfast with him before I go to work for 7:30. So again, don't tell me your too busy.

That alone will do exactly jack shite in an effort to lose 50 lbs.
ETA: Saw that you included jogging. That's a little better.

change your diet permanently, but gradually ... first rule is to eat less ... then eat better ... exercise in the morning ... don't train for the olympics ... and stretch in the evening ... permanent changes for the long run will take hold ... quick fixes won't ...
and drink more water/tea/wine/whiskey, and less diet coke/beer ...

I got on the scales in jan 2013 and I had reached 300lbs. I had been trying to diet and exercise myself and it wasn't working. I was in grad school and didn't have alot of time to cook so I ordered nutrisystem. I liked it because they sent the food to your door and was actually pretty good. I lost 36 pounds in the first 6 months then went off gained 10 back and then went back on and lost ten and additional 35lbs.
Also there is time to sneak in 30 minutes of exercise into any schedule you just have to try. If you don't exercise your body will adjust to the lower caloric intake and you will be tired as shite and not lose weight.

You don't think adding in some cardio will help someone drop weight?
And he doesn't exercise at all so he may need to walk first and build up to running

It will, but any time you want to improve your body whether it's to get bigger muscles or lose weight, its 70% diet and 30% working out

Can you workout before work? I get up around 5-5:30, get to the gym around 6, workout until about 7:30, take a shower and go to work. You just have to commit. I was way overweight 4 yrs ago and finally had enough. Now I feel crappy if I don't go in the morning. I lost around 40 lbs of fat and put on muscle while doing it. I'm 36 yrs old with a wife that works and 3 kids. Good luck.
