I'll be in BR for the game Saturday and I was thinking of getting an uber driver to pick us up from the campus after the game. Is this a bad idea?

It will be expensive and tough. You have to get off campus before they can pick you up. There is a no pickup zone on campus.

Probably. You'll have to walk to good ways off campus to be picked up I'm sure

3-4x surge pricing, about $110 to go from campus to CCL 3 hours after game time.

Someone I know paid over $200 because they got stuck in traffic just to get to Gardere.

Uber is overrated and expensive. Don't use it when any event is going on. Especially a ball game.

Not really

But the surge pricing can make it pretty expensive, this part is true. Last two weeks, it's been x2.75.

I used it last Saturday night at 11:00PM from North Gate to Corporate / Jefferson area and there was a 3x multiplier. My experience with Uber has been good - yeah its expensive on gameday but its way cheaper than a DWI.

Cost $50 to get a ride from Tigerland to Nicholson Lakes at 1:00 AM. That was after a blowout, non sell-out game against ULM. This weekend will be way worse I would assume. It was at 3x the price at that time.

Took it from Nicholson Lakes before the game to the stadium at around 1 and it only cost 13 dollars… clutch.

This is good to know, because I was thinking of doing the same thing. Glad I read this.

Not with über he didn't. You see the quoted price and pay upfront. It doesn't change based on ride time like a cab does.

Every time I have used it I requested a ride, it gave me a price, you agree to that, and then was then picked up. What has your experience been?

It has a fare based on time and miles just like a regular cab, but you get a price quote estimate before you pick up the ride.

You don't pay the quoted fare automatically. You're on a Meyer just like a regular cab.

BTW, that no request zone isn't Uber's doing...LSU has established a pedestrian zone and there is no way to go towards campus with the contraflow

Pretty sure it got north of 9x surge pricing after the Wisky game in Houston. Was insane.

Took Uber from Varsity to downtown at about 11:00 pm after the ULM game. Very short wait time and I think it was like $15 or so. That being said, I'm sure the people in for the MSU game will be a different animal.
