Arrested several people for not being registered taxi drivers, and found one guy driving around with a suspending license, drinking vodka and with weed in the car. This does not bode well for Uber's screening of its drivers.

Brandon Devonte Oliver, the driver accused of drinking and marijuana possession, was charged with first-degree possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, open beverage, no tag light and not meeting the city's licensing and insurance requirements.

His passenger, Wykey Guyton, was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana.

Meh.

He should've been booted out of the the driver system really quickly if he really was that bad. He was either a really new driver or customers still appreciated his driving and gave him good ratings.

Uber just started in Tvegas. I'm frankly surprised there were that many Uber drivers out there. I guess none of them bothered to follow the warnings that they had to be licensed by the city and have their cars pass inspection. Oh, and not drive while slurping vodka and slinging dope.

Try that argument when just one of these bozos gets drunk and kills someone in a wreck. Uber will get uber sued for negligence - sample size my arse.

warnings? shouldn't uber verify this information before allowing them to drive?

You would think so, but I'll bet their contract with drivers says the driver is responsible for compliance with all local laws.

Thank goodness Tuscaloosa PD is going after the real criminals so we can all go back to those squeaky-clean cab drivers.

How does Little Nicky not know that one of his players is moonlighting as an Uber driver.

Wow I wonder how much the Tuscaloosa cab companies paid the TPD to carry out that operation?
