How bad is an 0-2 start?

Historically, an 0-2 start makes it really hard to get into the playoffs. Does this really mean that much for the Saints? It certainly has been an ugly showing on the field so far but they still have the personnel for a deep run in the playoffs. Obviously they have to get there first. Mark Ingram's injury is going to hurt our hot backfield, but we have decent replacements including Pierre Thomas. Can the pass defense improve? is the real question. Our schedule in the next few games should tell us.

till proven otherwise this is a team that cannot close out games.

The old "you are who your record says you are" is very true with the parody of the NFL

The fact thst both were road losses makes me feel better. 0-2 with both at home would be really bad.

I believe this is a valid point as well. Seattle loses on the road yet they are still ranked as a top team. The Saints are much more vulnerable on the road, we have to accept this

falcons are 1-1 and the bucs are 0-2 (I think)

panthers, sheet, I ain't even worried. They've lost their best defensive player, all their wide receivers...first sign of adversity, they'll implode

not to mention where the defense was last year after 2 games and where they are this year after 2 games.

ISWYDT, but in all honesty... Neither start is bad. It's a long season.

Hope you're right. I remember last year all of us thinking they weren't the real deal do to a soft schedule at the beginning of the season

Saw a graphic on ESPN last night that Vegas still has us in the top 5 or so odds wise to make it to the Super Bowl FWIW.

without steve smith last year, that team implodes and their coach gets canned

cam newton... one beatdown, and they could implode...not saying they will, they could

Mathematically the numbers aren't a huge deal. Making the playoffs should be easily in reach if they play like we all think that they should. What is a big deal is what has lead to the 0-2 record. The defense has been very discouraging. I'm still optimistic but nervous that they can get their shite together.

0-2 is not so bad for a start to the season. IF the team is as good as advertised, they will bounce back.

I'm more concerned about them being 7-7 in the last 14 games, and having 5 straight losses in a row on the road. Can't go anywhere with that, especially when all they had to do to secure home field last year was win one more game on the road, just one, ANY one, and the window kept closing and closing and getting smaller week after week, and they couldn't do it.
