Lazy Days Restaurant Dinner Islamorada 9/16

Spending a few days in Islamorada for the re-opening of the Islander Resort as a Guy Harvey Tradewinds Outpost and doing a little permit & bonefishing. Islamorada is such a quiet laid back place with some really great restaurants. One of the best is Lazy Days just north of Bud & Mary's Marina Oceanside. Great view to the east of the Atlantic, though since it was dark no pics, you'll just have to take my word. We sat upstairs on the balcony overlooking the beach and the diners below.
Lazy Conch was our first course:
Tenderized Bahamian Queen Conch encrusted with Panko bread crumbs, sauteed, topped with fresh diced tomatoes, scallions, fresh grated parmesan cheese and homemade key lime butter
Tuna Tartar
Tasted even better than expected....We were wondering about the raw onions being too strong, they weren't. $12.99
Yellowfin Soku Tuna mixed with onions, avocado, soy sauce and a blend of spices, served with crispy fried wonton strips and a creamy wasabi
sauce
Cup of great Mexican tortilla soup with queso fresca & cotija cheese garnished with flash fried thin cut tortilla strips Broth was both delicate and bold at same time
Hogfish Seminole
Hogfish filet topped with ocean scallops, shrimp, artichoke hearts, diced ripe tomatoes, fire roasted red pepper & green onions with a white wine key lime sauce and garlic mashed potatoes
Pic only of half a portion since we split the entree. Incredible amount of value for $28.99
Great ambiance and wonderful food.....total bill was $78.00 including glass of wine, margarita and iced tea. Highly recommended

Lazy Days is awesome- I spend a lot of time in S. FL and when I make it to the keys, it's a stop I try to make.
