This has to be the final straw for Goodell, right?

Seriously - they never ever weighed in on Adrian Peterson. How can you be so blind to have not issued a league-wide suspension by now and be caught looking weak on domestic violence yet AGAIN - less than a week after the turmoil over Ray Rice? It's literally the most incompetent thing I've ever witnessed from an organization.
It's another huge PR blunder and I honestly think Goodell will be out by Friday evening.

That's a cop out though. The Vikings suspending AP had nothing to do with the league. And the league surely knew about this OTHER allegation but yet did nothing.

The NFL is going to get fricking sued if they do this to a guy who is eventually deemed innocent(or close enough to it to make the suspension too stiff) of the charges.
The smartest course of action is to await the legal system's determination, not to run around suspending players on accusations.

The NFL potentially losing an $80 million damage suit to Adrian Peterson in 5 years (on the 1 in 1,000,000 chance that he's being framed or something) is nothing compared to the damage being done to the shield right now.

Holy shite you are dumb. Until the court process plays out the NFL technically has no authority regarding a players staus. The media takes over and the owners/league have been shitting themselves .

A good lawyer would use this against the league. I know the NFL is in a position to make it's own guidelines and all but if a player feels that they lost out on money that they were owed I could easily see a lawsuit being brought upon the league. I'm not talking about any one situation specifically. I just think that the culture te league is trying to mold, added to the scrutiny they're facing now, will end with some guys facing punishments that don't even come close to fitting the "crime."
I can't stand how "public" everything is now. I don't mean that situations like Rice's shouldn't be public knowledge. I just hate how literally 80% of the leagues happenings are subject to debate, and politics.
Football is huge in my life. It's an amazing game that I can, at times, lose myself in. But that's all I ever want or need it to be. It's depressing how the NFL is trying to be more than just a league who hosts games. I feel like they've asked for all this shite by trying to have the NFL literally be a part of our lives.
I'm drunk, I hope I made sense just now

While criminal activity is clearly outside the scope of permissible conduct, and persons who engage in criminal activity will be subject to discipline, the standard of conduct for persons employed in the NFL is considerably higher. It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful. Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime. Discipline may be imposed in any of the following circumstances:

Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL players.
So the NFL can suspend him if they want to right now
