That kid is being forced to raise himself and any other siblings he has when the parent can't do shite. It's such a common problem that's very sad.

Yep. Drugs long ago destroyed many families and cities. Now, they are simply accepted as the norm. In Detroit, the 8 mile road separates the wealthy white suburbs from the broken and destitute city. If you walk across that road from the rich side into the tragic side, and ask anyone what destroyed Detroit, 99% will say drugs. 99%.
