Gaming Hype Problem

It seems yet again that people are getting sold on games before they're released and getting burned. I've been burned before, Perfect Dark Zero, Halo 3, Skyrim, Fable, and the list goes on.
Will the gaming community ever stop buying the hype and let games be released before making strong opinions?

At least for Steam, early access has slowed down the hype train because of unfinished games. On console, if the developers don't release a demo then hype is all people have to go on.

Its not a troll, PDZ was nearly unplayable.
Halo 3 was hyped like it was a real gaming event when it was just a reskinned/balanced Halo 2. Skyrim had some real issues in combat balance making combat boring as paint drying. Fable was the definition of over hyped.
Why on earth is that a troll?

Popular doesn't mean its 'good'. I thought there were some real issues with Skyrim, but I only played on the clunky PC port.

To answer the OP, no people will always get overhyped. You have to remember that a large percentage of this crowd is young, under 18 in particular. This is basically their life at this point and don't have the experience with life in general to stay grounded.

Fable 1, the original. I never touched Fable 2 or 3 thinking that an improvement on the game still wouldn't reach what was promised in the first one.

Not sure how anyone could have gotten burnt on Destiny because there was no bait and switch and they had an free alpha and beta that was available for those who wanted to try it out.

This. I had no interest in this game but decided to try the free beta and enjoyed it so I bought it.
