As the House Select Committee on Benghazi prepares for its first hearing this week, a former State Department diplomat is coming forward with a startling allegation: Hillary Clinton confidants were part of an operation to “separate” damaging documents before they were turned over to the Accountability Review Board investigating security lapses surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

According to former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell, the after-hours session took place over a weekend in a basement operations-type center at State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C. This is the first time Maxwell has publicly come forward with the story.

quote:

“She told me, ‘Ray, we are to go through these stacks and pull out anything that might put anybody in the [Near Eastern Affairs] front office or the seventh floor in a bad light,’” says Maxwell. He says “seventh floor” was State Department shorthand for then-Secretary of State Clinton and her principal advisors.

“I asked her, ‘But isn’t that unethical?’ She responded, ‘Ray, those are our orders.’ ”

This is why Gowdy is on Benghazi and not on the IRS. The right is going after Clinton...

If true and if it can be shown to be true, this will be very damaging to the Clinton campaign I would imagine.

Apparently he has been on the offensive since he was disciplined for his part in the incident.

From CBS News May 19, 2013
Benghazi-disciplined diplomat a prolific poet

Nevermind - I couldn't sort it out, either. It's fixed in Wolfhound's original post.

Bad link...

That was strange. I checked the link for edit and it was correct. But when I clicked on it I got the same error message you got. Think it is fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't believe this. After Obama being re-elected, I don't think there is ANYTHING a DEM could do to lose the party support. Like Rush says, the DEMS circle the wagons while the Rep circle the firing squad. Obama could behead a baby on live TV and they would come up with an excuse

Yep. But the second a Republican says something innocuous like "Adrian Peterson is a good football player", they'll show up like this:

Yep. This woman is as dishonest as they come, imo. Pelosi isn't dishonest in the same breath as Clinton, just dumb as a turd. Clinton is very smart with her dishonesty. This is why she is dangerous politically.

If true this will ruin Hillary's chance at a 2016 bid. Too much baggage and she won't make it through primaries

Yup.

Not sure why we have not heard his name before. He was disciplined last year.
