iPad apps will not update

Something must have happened during an update, now I have a few apps that are frozen and won't update. They are greyed out and when I hold them down, I don't have the option to delete
Any help?

reboot the iPad. I have had this happen once or twice with the internet going out in the middle of updating apps.

Did a hard reboot and no help

My wife has had this issue before. You have to re-sync it with iTunes on your computer. Kind of a pain, especially when you are on vacation without your laptop.

I just had to go to AppStore and cancel the update and reupdate
