Why can't/don't we use this to run? I'm tired of I formation two TE sets. It's predictable in the run and pass game. It allows defenses to follow the fullback most of the time to the ball and puts too many people in the box making it harder for the RB to find an opening. And when you pass out of it "to keep the D honest" you have one option essentially or throw it away. Single back allows you to accomplish your goal of being able to pound the rock but there's no fullback to tip the D and makes for less congestion in the box. Adding the extra wide receiver stretches the D out and gives the QB multiple options. Without naming names, it seems like the best running teams run this formation more.

Call Les and ask him. I have a feeling he had a little more insight than anyone on the rant..

like some one said Miles thinks it's still 1975 and/or he doesn't understand basic physics . Plus would lead to less come from behind victories
