He is on Finebaum's show right now.

He went from "almost dropping an F bomb about Billy Canon" to praising Tiger Stadium.

You ain't kidding. I did not know he was an Ole Miss guy, but I could see that.

I'd say they aren't big fans.

Nice guy but he's letting his fame go to his head. Kind of douchey these days. He hasn't always written in a hyperbolic and smug manner. He's at his best when writing about obscure topics in the sports world.

Used to see him all the time out on the square in Oxford. He's a drinker, that's for sure

Somewhere along the line he decided he was cool enough to wear fedoras. He is not.

There are like 4-5 people in human history capable of pulling off a fedora.

Hell of a piece. Wright is a dying breed in that he's actually a good writer and journalist. He of course has submitted to a bit of ESPN bullshite and pretension, but it's hard to hold that against anyone.

Yeah? I'm sure they do... He seems pretty cool and always pumps Ole Miss. And he's a very talented writer.

His first job after graduating from Mizzou was covering LSU for the Times Picayune.

What a great article. Thanks for sharing. I read it years ago but it really makes me proud he is our coach. I have always thought that his strength in recruiting was his manner with those boys' mothers across the kitchen table. I would think he could make you feel like you could trust him with your son.
