LSU Pass Defense has given up 196 yards vs two quality opponents.

Wisconsin had 284 passing vs Western Illinois btw.

I'm as much of a positiger as they come, but just because SHS is a quality FCS team doesn't mean we can forget that they are still FCS.

However, i have been very impressed with how well our back 7 have played against the pass. I am really looking forward to SEC play where we can see how they truley stack up against the best

Every QB sucks and isn't a really starter anyway after we get done with them. Just remeber this.

I love our secondary but it's our front 7 that bothers me. Auburn, UF and Bama are all run first teams. If we can't stop the run, they won't need 196 passing yards a game to beat us.
We need our DLine to step up and we need a guy like Valentine to help Lacoutre anchor down the middle. We also need Beckwith's size a MLB to help stuff the run up the middle and the fastest way for him to learn this defense is through game time reps. Hopefully these issues are addressed before we play Auburn so our secondary can create turnovers and shine.

This thread is dumb strictly because you called SHS a quality opponent. They in no way shape or form are a quality opponent. They didn't belong on the same field as LSU. Their coach even said as much,"it was their men against our boys."

Our secondary's stats will take a big hit if our DL are too worried about containment instead of disruption. Teams like Au will force such an attitude but the rest should have to deal with the whole enchilada.

As for MLB, as long as it doesn't cost us any games, I don't mind forcing Beckwith to take that spot instead of jumping the gun if the Chief isn't quite ready to pull that trigger.
