Posted this on the MSB, but figured some here would like it as well.
“We have a big game on 9/11, that’s going to make that game even more special, make us play with even more energy and effort.” -Anthony Davis
"We’re playing for a lot tomorrow. We want to win the game, but we also want to represent our country on such an emotional day, and let our fans and citizens of America know that we’re not just representing them by making buckets; we also understand that this is going to be a tough day for a lot of people. We want to bring them some joy and some happiness on that particular day.” -asst coach Monty Williams
Lithuania:
Lithuania is a big team who has been very successful so far in this tournament. Their only loss was to Australia by 7 points but they've put together some nice performances.
Lithuania has six players over 6'9" including four players 6'11" or taller.
The rest of the team runs 6'7", 6'6", 6'6", 6'5", 6'4", and 6'2".
NBA Players:
C-Jonas Valanciunas, 7', plays for the Raptors. Averaging 13ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.3bpg and hitting nearly 75% FG
PF-Donatas Motiejunas, 7', plays for the Rockets. Averaging 9ppg, 5rpg, and 1apg off the bench.
Other Players of note:
SG-Renaldas Seibutis 6'6", drafted in 2007 2nd round by Dallas. Averaging 10ppg 3apg
PF-Paulius Jankunas 6'9", team captain, plays like Luis Scola...will try to draw fouls constantly.
SG/SF-Martynas Pocius, 6'5", played college ball at Duke, averaging 7.4ppg, 1.7 apg, 42% from 3.
C-Darjus Lavrinovic, 6'11", averaging 9ppg and 3rpg off the bench.
Their PGs and SGs don't appear to be anything special with very poor assists to turnover ratios. They are all shooting 40+% from 3 for the tournament though but that is probably from smaller teams having to focus extra attention inside. Don't expect that kind of shooting vs us.

I hope my DVR records it properly. Cox only has it listed from 2:00-3:00, so I set it to record NFL Live, too.

Wanna feel old? AD was probably in second or third grade when the towers were hit.

My Lithuanians are going balls deep on the Americans today.

If you are still in your 20s, there is no reason to feel old regarding any events.

Meh numbers, except for the blocks.

AD fouled out. 5th foul was a tech.

Davis finishes with 6pts 5 boards, 2 blocks, 1 assist 3/5 shooting in 20 minutes.
Not a good game from him, but not a particularly bad one. Just quiet

It's hard for a big to look decent when the guards keep jacking up 3s before trying to set up any sort of offense.
