Two men, shocked at what they saw, describe an unarmed teenager with his hands up in the air as he's gunned down by a police officer.

They were contractors doing construction work in Ferguson, Missouri, on the day Michael Brown was killed.

And the men, who asked not to be identified after CNN contacted them, said they were about 50 feet away from Officer Darren Wilson when he opened fire.

quote:

"He had his f**n hands up," one of the men says in the video.

The man told CNN he heard one gunshot, then another shot about 30 seconds later. "The cop didn't say get on the ground. He just kept shooting," the man said.

That same witness described the gruesome scene, saying he saw Brown's "brains come out of his head," again stating, "his hands were up."

The video shows the man raising his arms in the air -- just as, he says, Brown was doing when he was shot.

The other contractor told CNN he saw Brown running away from a police car.

Brown "put his hands up," the construction worker said, and "the officer was chasing him."

The contractor says he saw Wilson fire a shot at Brown while his back was turned.

The men said they didn't seen how the confrontation started.

quote:

The construction workers said they don't live in Ferguson and don't know the Brown family, but their account squares with accounts from several other witnesses of the unarmed African-American teen's shooting death on August 9.

But doesn't square with the facts.

this is the one i'm curious about more than anything. the rest is easily true within the facts of what we know, but this one is a head scratcher

This is one of those situations where a common sense bystander like this contractor or me would say "why didn't the officer stop shooting? he had clearly gotten control of the situation!"

But then you'll have some know it all cop come in here and say something like "LOL - it doesn't work that way... once you start firing you don't stop".

Then most of the Republicans will side with the cop and most of the liberals or police haters will side against the cop. and that's it.

Hmmm sounds like they are describing a execution. I have my doubts about this one.
30 sec is a long damn time.

Where is the corroborating testimony? The "witnesses" that started this whole thing said he was shot in the back, which we know was a lie.

There's a certain amount of chaos that comes from having multiple witnesses. I suspect there's at least a grain of truth in their perspective. But it's tough to piece together where this all goes. I'd say their testimony makes it likely the officer sees a trial.

Because there's footage that early puts them at the scene your question is irrelevant IMO

Okay, if the Cop was wrong, it should come out in the investigation. Does this justify looting? Will the Justice Dept go after the "citizens" who destroyed businesses, some owned by minorities?

How does the autopsy show he didn't have his hands in the air when he was murdered?

It doesn't fit with the released evidence, but then again I haven't keep up with it since the nightly in game threads on the riots.

Also eye witnesses are usually the most inaccurate evidence there is. 12 ppl can see the same thing and you will get 12 different stories about what happened.

All cops should be required to wear body cams and you wouldn't have these problems.

due to the bullet wounds it's not likely, but it could have happened

i do not think the brains came out, though, nor would they with a shot to the top of the head like that
