We should probably question the intelligence of anyone opposed to marijuana legalization at this point

Infographics, while cool, aren't going to sway people over the age of 25. I'm all for legalization, so don't get me wrong. This should be a good debate point in the next election.

How long ago did the law take effect? 8 months or so?

It sounds to me like they hired the Climate Change crowd to do some "modeling" for the marijuana proponents.

I'd think that you'd need a longer time frame before you started making some of these definitive statements. But that's just me.

They are just numbers, not definitive statements. There are monthly measures in place to record this data.

I am very interested to see the financial haul that Colorado takes in by the taxes on weed, the reduction in spending for enforcement/ prosecution/ and incarceration, along with the crime data. I really think that if they can show where the state is now going to be at a major profit, it will open up law makers eyes...

So putting some words on a picture is now considered definitive proof of something?

Fine.

More horrible consequences of Colorado's marijuana legalization

1-So-called edibles are being blamed for an increase in the number of pot-related emergency room visits, including those from a half-dozen or so children who unknowingly ate pot-laced treats.
2-The baked goods and candies also are believed to have played a role in two deaths in the past two months.
3-A college student visiting from Wyoming jumped to his death from a Denver hotel balcony in March after consuming six times the recommended dose of a pot-infused cookie.
4- a Denver man is believed to have shot and killed his wife after eating pot-laced candy
5-As long as legal weed is more expensive than its tax-free illegal stuff, there will always be a black market.
6-Many of these potential wrinkles hinge on the fact that officials simply don’t yet have the data to tell what is a problem and what isn’t.

The murder rate went down 60% due to marijuana legalization?

I'm for legalization, but tying some of these statistics to recreational marijuana is extremely tenuous.

I'd be for legalization even without these results though because it's none of the government's business what adults do that harms no one else.

The savings and jobs created are enough to justify legalization.

I wish the government minding its own business was enough to justify it

If more studies can point to positive effects (and I'm talking about actual comprehensive studies), it would go a long way to swaying recalcitrant people and legislatures, though.

I hate simpleton associative BS like this.
60% fewer homicides relates to cannabis legalization, how?

apparently enough studies have been made to discern that high drivers need to get the same penalties as DWI perps.

Yep. This kind of stuff does a lot more harm than good to the legalization effort.
