how do I keep my Polaris pool vacuum for getting stuck in corners and ladders?

It never fails I wake up every morning and have to go free the damn thing from whatever it's caught up on. When it gets stuck it's sprays water all over my entire back patio completely soaks everything.

I dont have time to sit back there and babysit it every time I need it to do its job.

There should be a valve attached to the hose near the Polaris that kicks in every once in a while and pulls the Polaris backwards. Sounds like yours isn't functioning correctly.

May want to get a restrictor disc and put it where the hose connects at the port. I had to do that with mine because it was running way too fast and wouldn't pick anything up.

Shorten the hose?

You'll just have to do those areas closest to the corners and ladders yourself.

other than hiring a maint. person, I don't think there is much you can do about it.
Mine would occasionally get stuck, but I just told my OT10 supermodel pool girl to go fix it.

maybe get a bigger pool instead of shortening the hose??

Thats a great idea

yes, there is a valve, should it be all the way tight or loose?

Watch your Polaris run for several minutes. If it doesn't stop and reverse itself to reposition the unit, then you probably need to replace the back-up valve.

Also, may need to tone the pressure pushing the water out of the "tail". There's a knob/screw that lowers that.

thats the valve I was talking about. Does that need to be tight or loose? I assume the more water pushing out the faster it moves.

Why are you running your polaris all night? I never ran mine more than a couple of hours a day.

He said it was getting stuck at the ladder...so I assumed that is what he had? I guess above ground pools don't have corners though, so maybe he just has an older in ground pool???

First world problem? Maybe. An OT baller problem...doesn't sound like it.

Hire a pool boy to clean the pool. Your wife will appreciate it.
